The Isuzu UTE A-League Boost Mobile Young Footballer of the Year accolade is an annual recognition awarded to the top young player from Australia or New Zealand who is 23 years old or younger. For the current season, players born on or after January 1, 2001, are eligible.
Clayton Taylor secured his nomination as the Boost Mobile Young Footballer of the Year for January/February through a selection panel set up by the Australian Professional Leagues (APL).
This panel comprises a mix of media figures and football specialists, who assess performances and vote on a 3-2-1 basis at the end of each nominated month during the season.
Taylor is the third player to receive this nomination this season, joining former Macarthur FC winger Jed Drew (January) and Adelaide United striker Archie Goodwin (December), alongside Melbourne Victory winger Nishan Velupillay (October/November).
He will take the pitch this weekend when his team faces league leaders Auckland FC, in a clash between two of the league’s most in-form clubs.
