The Canterbury Bulldogs have officially parted ways with 19-year-old rising star Karl Oloapu.
Last month, Wide World of Sports broke the news that the young talent had left the Bulldogs and expressed interest in joining the Dolphins.
Oloapu was initially brought on board by the Broncos at the age of 13 after impressing at Redcliffe and later went on to captain the Australian Schoolboys team in 2022.
However, a severe neck injury and the subsequent surgery disrupted his 2024 season and put his career at risk.
“This has been a tough time for Karl and his family,” said Bulldogs chief Phil Gould in a statement on Tuesday.

“He has displayed remarkable resilience throughout this ordeal, and we have provided him with the necessary support during this time,” Gould added.
“While we are disappointed that circumstances have not unfolded as we had hoped, Karl’s long-term health and future in the game have always remained our top priority.”
“We sincerely thank him for his contributions to the club and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
