Brøndby finds themselves in a pivotal match next weekend against Silkeborg, following a disappointing 4-2 defeat to Randers on Monday night. This encounter marks the final fixture of the regular season.
Randers celebrated their first win of the spring campaign by overcoming Brøndby 4-2, a result that guarantees their place in the Superliga Championship Playoffs.
While Randers is now secure, Brøndby must face Silkeborg at home in a must-win scenario to claim their position in the Top 6. A draw will suffice for Brøndby, but Silkeborg must secure a victory.
On a subpar pitch, it was the visitors who established control early on. However, the situation took a turn when Mathias Kvistgaard had to leave the field due to injury after 25 minutes, disrupting Randers’ attacking tactics.
Randers eventually took the lead shortly after the half-time break when Mohamed Touré headed in a precise cross from Nikolas Dyhr. Brøndby quickly replied, though, as Nicolai Vallys found the back of the net following a series of excellent passes around the Randers box.

Repeated defensive lapses have previously haunted Frederik Birk’s squad, and once again, a lack of structure in Brøndby’s defence proved detrimental when André Romer scored in a goalmouth scramble to make it 2-1 on the hour.
Shortly after, Touré netted his second of the evening, tapping in a rebound after Patrick Pentz failed to secure a shot from Florian Danho, extending Randers’ lead to 3-1.
The match was far from over, however, as Jordi Vanlerberghe reignited hope for the visitors with a powerful shot into the far corner in the 74th minute.
Ultimately, Brøndby’s hopes were dashed by Mathias Greve, who sealed the game with a strike that brought the score to 4-2 in stoppage time.
