Brisbane Roar has announced the exit of seven first-team players following the conclusion of the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season.
Among the notable departures is Singaporean international Danelle Tan, who leaves the club without scoring in her three appearances this season. Additionally, six-time Bulgarian Women’s Footballer of the Year Evdokia Popadinova also departs after netting just three goals in 18 matches.

Also departing the Roar are Young Matildas striker Tanaye Morris, midfielder Tamar Levin, and goalkeeper Anneka Lewerenz, as their contracts reach their conclusion.
In addition, the club confirmed that Brazilian-born forward Mariel Hecher and 30-year-old goalkeeper Keeley Richards have both announced their retirement following the latest Ninja A-League season.

Meanwhile, Matildas winger Sharn Freier is set to move overseas as she prepares to join Frauen-Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg in a record-setting transfer for the Roar.
The 23-year-old Freier caught the attention of the German club earlier this year after an outstanding 18 months in the Ninja A-League, which included earning her first cap for the national team. A transfer agreement between the clubs was reached back in January.
Sadly for both the player and the club, Freier suffered a season-ending ankle injury in March, which undoubtedly impacted the Roar’s chances as they missed out on a spot in this year’s Finals Series.
