Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall is “enthusiastic” about the future as Lachlan Galvin’s tenure at Concord seems to be coming to an end.
On Friday, a video appeared on a Bulldogs fan account on Instagram, seemingly capturing Galvin training in Canterbury gear.
While the Belmore club has yet to officially confirm the 19-year-old’s signing, it is widely assumed that his move to the club is imminent.
Although he remains under contract with the Tigers, Galvin did not accompany the team to Townsville for their round 13 clash against the Cowboys.
When asked on Friday if he felt disappointed about Galvin’s departure, Marshall was straightforward.
“I’m not sure disappointment is the right term,” he stated.
“We truly value the players we have, and we’re really happy with our current squad.”
“We’re excited about the young talent coming through, and our aim is to make a significant impact on the competition this year. We’re confident in our squad, but we need to execute this weekend.”
Galvin’s relationship with the Tigers has been quite tumultuous, culminating last month when his manager, Isaac Moses, declined to consider an attractive contract extension from the club.

After several weeks of uneasy negotiations, the Tigers are set to permit the young player a mid-contract release.
With another promising young playmaker, Latu Fainu, still on the sidelines, Mason Heath will step in as five-eighth for the upcoming match against the Cowboys on Saturday.

Marshall has noted the positive atmosphere in the Tigers camp.
“Training this week has been excellent,” he remarked.
“Everyone is eager to get onto the field. Last week’s bye has contributed positively to the energy at the club. There’s a buzz around, with many players keen to show what they can do.”
“I’ve really sensed a boost in the group’s energy levels.”
“Several players are making their return, including Heath, who has injected a lot of enthusiasm into the squad, and our leaders have been ensuring a productive preparation following the bye.”
The Tigers currently sit 12th on the ladder, having secured five wins from 11 games.
