A remarkable tally of 31 goals were netted during the first five fixtures of Round 23, highlighted by Macarthur Bulls’ thrilling 5-4 victory over Adelaide United on Friday night and Western United’s impressive 6-2 triumph over Newcastle Jets on Sunday afternoon.
Western United’s Michael Ruhs secured the record-breaking goal, marking his team’s sixth strike in their impressive display against the Jets.
Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix capped off the weekend with a 1-1 draw, bringing the total goals tally across the six fixtures of Round 23 to a phenomenal 33.
