Ella Tonkin, the centre-back for Adelaide United, has been awarded the Shark Player of the Month for January/February in the Ninja A-League, following a fan voting process.
This 22-year-old defender secured the accolade with an impressive 56% of the fan votes, while Wellington Phoenix captain Annalie Longo came in second. Adelaide midfielder Emily Condon garnered the third-highest votes among the ten nominated players.
Each month, the ten nominees are chosen based on FotMob’s rating system. The players with the highest FotMob ratings (ranging from 0.0 to 10.0) during the voting period are selected for the Shark Player of the Month consideration.

The January/February nomination window covered Rounds 13-16 of the Ninja A-League season, with matches played between January 24 and February 16 being taken into account by the FotMob rating system.
During this eligibility timeframe, Tonkin achieved a FotMob rating of 7.81, ranking her fourth overall, behind Melbourne City’s Holly McNamara (7.86), Melbourne Victory’s Alex Chidiac (8.02), and Condon, who led the pack with an impressive 8.19 average rating.
