Eredivisie club Feyenoord has officially appointed club legend Robin van Persie (41) as their new head coach.
Van Persie embarked on his managerial journey in the summer of 2024 when sc Heerenveen enlisted the Dutch icon following his roles as a youth coach for various Feyenoord academy teams.
His tenure at the Frisian club was marked by a memorable 1-0 victory at home against then-league leaders PSV Eindhoven. However, it also featured some challenging moments, including a staggering 9-1 defeat away to AZ and a 3-2 cup elimination at the hands of amateur side Quick Boys, which garnered significant media attention.
The renowned Dutch striker began his professional journey with 16-time Dutch champions Feyenoord in 2001. He celebrated UEFA Cup success with the club in May 2002 before making the move to Arsenal in the summer of 2004. Following his time at Arsenal, he played for Manchester United and Turkish heavyweight Fenerbahce before returning to Feyenoord in 2018. During his one-and-a-half seasons in Rotterdam, the Flying Dutchman netted 25 goals and secured the KNVB Cup.
