Roosters prop Spencer Leniu experienced an unusual moment early in his team’s trial match against the Knights, as he was sin binned and removed from the field for a Head Injury Assessment (HIA) in a single sequence.
The physical enforcer tackled Phoenix Crossland high during the opening minutes but ended up worse off, with Knights players supporting him as he stumbled.
Prior to this, in a Roosters attacking set, Leniu had a head clash with Dylan Lucas while taking a hit-up.
As Leniu was being escorted from the field, referee Peter Gough issued him a sin bin for the tackle on Crossland.

Leniu appeared perplexed by the decision, frequently glancing at the big screen to view a replay of the incident.
“He was as shocked as anyone that he was being sent to the sin bin,” remarked Warren Smith during the Fox League commentary.
Upon his return to the field, the Knights held an 18-0 lead.
Nevertheless, Leniu made an immediate impression by pushing for a quick play-the-ball in the attacking zone, setting up teammate Mark Nawaqanitawase, who assisted in putting Daniel Tupou over in the corner.
The Knights showcased their dominance in the first half, scoring six tries against the Roosters.
