Broncos fullback Reece Walsh has taken a playful dig at Shane Flanagan following his team’s win over the Bulldogs in the pre-season challenge held in Redcliffe.
After the match, Walsh was quizzed about Ben Hunt’s influence since his return to Red Hill, following a messy departure from Flanagan and the St George Illawarra club.
Walsh commented that Hunt “had some bad habits” the team is striving to improve, a remark that appeared to allude to a previous comment made by the Dragons coach last week.
“He (Hunt) is a world-class player,” the fullback shared with Fox League.
“He still has a few bad habits in his game, but we’re addressing that.”

“Seeing him enjoy himself back in the Broncos jersey is fantastic. I used to watch him when I was younger.”
“It really is a pinch-me moment.”
In a chat with foxsports.com.au, Flanagan mentioned that his former No.7 “was a good player but he was aging and he also had a few bad habits.”
In a different post-match chat following the win over the Bulldogs, Hunt opted not to retaliate when prompted to respond to his former coach’s remarks.
“You’re reaching for a quote there. I’ll let that one slide,” Hunt commented.
“He (Walsh) gives me a hard time during training too.”
With a 30-14 victory over the Bulldogs, the Broncos claimed the pre-season challenge alongside a $100,000 cash prize.
However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing, as star centre Kotoni Staggs left the field with just 15 minutes gone due to a reported quadriceps injury and did not return.
The Brisbane side will begin their official season against the Roosters in Sydney on March 6.
