The FIA Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring Program is set to return to the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in 2025, offering an exceptional opportunity for young women aged 16-22 to delve into the realm of motorsport.
Scheduled for Thursday, 13 March 2025, at the Albert Park Circuit, this distinctive program will grant participants exclusive behind-the-scenes access to one of the world’s most esteemed motorsport events. Highlights include a guided tour of the Kick F1 Team’s garage, meet-and-greet sessions with drivers, networking chances with industry experts, and Q&A discussions featuring inspiring guest speakers sharing their insights into career opportunities within motorsport.
Now in its fourth iteration, the program continues to motivate and uplift young women, with numerous past attendees securing significant roles and experiences at major events, such as MotoGP and working with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.
Girls on Track Ambassadors, Champions, and industry supporters will play pivotal roles in mentoring the young women throughout the event, with some offering continued guidance to selected participants post-program. One notable FIA Girls on Track Ambassador, Krystina Emmanouilidis, serves as a Senior CFD Engineer with the Kick F1 Team.

“Together with my team, this program provides a unique chance to witness the inner workings and connect with the industry professionals who literally bring the show to life,” Emmanouilidis stated.
“Over the years, we have observed remarkable collaboration between participants and industry professionals, making this day a shining testament to the fact that motorsport is an environment where women truly belong.
“This year, we’re excited to welcome back two participants from last year who will gain practical experience with the team – an opportunity I could only have dreamt of as a young girl in Australia.”
In 2025, all applicants will also need to acquire a free Motorsport Australia Officials Licence and complete the associated General Officials Training Module for their application to be processed.
Officiating is an essential component of motorsport, guaranteeing that events are held safely, efficiently, and to the highest possible standards. This pathway presents an excellent opportunity for young women to gain hands-on experience, forge industry connections, become part of a supportive community, and develop vital skills that can serve as a launching pad into a motorsport career. From grassroots events to prestigious competitions like the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, officiating offers a unique entry point into the sport and invaluable exposure to the diverse roles available within the industry.
Entry for the FIA Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring program is limited, with only 20 young women selected. Interested participants are encouraged to apply now for a chance to take part.
Prospective candidates must submit their application via the 2025 Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring form by 11:59 pm AEDT on Monday, 6 January. Applicants will be informed via email by Monday 20 January regarding the status of their application.
Former participant Tayla Purves extolled the virtues of the program after her attendance in 2024.

“Participating in the Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring event at the 2024 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix was an extraordinary experience, one I will cherish forever and which has been essential to my professional growth,” Purves remarked.
“Being able to engage in the Formula One paddock with Kick Sauber, learning from their Managing Director Alessandro Alunni Bravi, touring their garage, and getting close to the cars, along with the opportunity for endless questions, was incredibly beneficial for my understanding of the sport.
“Further discussions during the networking lunch offered invaluable insight, encouragement, and support to leverage our existing knowledge while fostering our network relationships, leading to opportunities long after the event.”
Since her involvement in the 2024 program, Purves has been granted additional interviews and job opportunities through ongoing mentorship and has secured a position as a published writer with The Collective Drive.
