The aftermath of Cyclone Alfred has compelled the Gold Coast Titans to shift their training operations to Sydney, with their facilities currently submerged.
The club reported substantial damage to their training ground due to torrential rain, with water levels exceeding the height of the goalposts.
Anticipating the potential inaccessibility of their venue, team staff proactively relocated all high-performance equipment before the cyclone struck.
Gold Coast is set to begin training in preparation for their season opener against the Bulldogs at a facility in Sydney Olympic Park.
The squad will remain in Sydney for training until at least next Monday.

“Our foremost concern as a club is for those in our community affected by this weather event and the severe rainfall that has ensued,” stated Gold Coast CEO Steve Mitchell.
“Like many others, we’ve experienced significant damage to our facilities, which necessitates a change in our operations as we deal with the aftermath.”

“With our high-performance centre rendered unusable for training this week, we will be sending the team to Sydney early to ensure they can adequately prepare for our first match of the season this Sunday against the Bulldogs at Belmore.”
“Ultimately, after what will undoubtedly be a challenging week for our community, we hope that a strong performance against the Bulldogs on Sunday will bring some much-needed joy to our members and supporters.”
The impending match at Belmore marks the beginning of the Titans’ 2025 season, following a bye in the initial round.
