Campbell Graham’s misfortune with injuries has taken another turn, as the Rabbitohs talent has been sent for scans after sustaining a hand injury during training.
The 25-year-old, who was sidelined for the entire previous season due to a serious sternum injury, was on a journey towards recovery with the aim of participating in the season opener.
Sadly, those aspirations may have taken a hit during the pre-season.
Reports emerged from Wide World of Sports’ The Mole on Wednesday morning indicating that the Kangaroos centre experienced a “significant” hand injury, potentially leading to yet another period on the sidelines.
South Sydney has since corroborated the news in an official club statement, confirming that Graham’s return hinges on the outcome of his X-rays.
“Rabbitohs centre Campbell Graham has sustained a hand injury during training this week,” the statement declared.
“He underwent scans on his hand and is scheduled to consult with a specialist this week to assess the best course of action for his rehabilitation.
“The Rabbitohs will update members and supporters as more information becomes available.”

Before his extended absence, Graham was in contention for a State of Origin debut with NSW and was considered one of the premier outside backs in the competition.
If he is unavailable for the start of the season, Isaiah Tass is likely to step in as his replacement.
