PSV Eindhoven have secured the signature of former Arsenal forward Lucas Perez (36) until the season’s end, the Dutch outfit announced on Sunday, just over a week before they face off against the London club in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash.
The 36-year-old made the move to PSV as a free agent after parting ways with his hometown team, Deportivo La Coruna, last month.
Perez initially joined Arsenal in 2016 from Deportivo in a deal worth a reported €20 million (approximately $21.02 million), but struggled to make a significant impact during his time in the Premier League. He returned to Deportivo on loan the following season before moving to West Ham in 2018.
“I am incredibly motivated to assist this club in achieving its ambitions, including securing the national title and the domestic cup,” Perez stated in a comment.
“I have put in a tremendous amount of effort recently, both on and off the pitch. I’m absolutely ready to show what I can do here.”
