Talented Wests Tigers playmaker Lachlan Galvin is setting his sights on the free-agency market, keen to explore lucrative offers from other clubs.
This news comes from Michael Chammas of The Sydney Morning Herald, who shared on Nine’s 100% Footy programme on Monday night that both Galvin and his agent, Isaac Moses, are effectively dismissing the Tigers’ attempts to secure him for a long-term commitment.
Currently contracted with Benji Marshall’s Tigers until the end of 2026, Galvin has already captained the Australian Schoolboys and plays in the pivotal five-eighth position.
If he doesn’t sign with the Tigers by November 1, the 19-year-old will be free to negotiate with new clubs.
“Lachie Galvin isn’t rushing into a decision with the Wests Tigers. His management is proactively advising other clubs to prepare for November 1,” Chammas noted.
“… I expect there will be a long line of interested suitors ready to make offers.”

Currently, Galvin is reported to earn $250,000 this season, with his salary projected to rise to $350,000 by 2026.
A product of Westfield Sports High, he debuted as the five-eighth against the Knights in round one, teaming up with high-profile recruit Jarome Luai in the halves.

Last month on his podcast, Billy Slater mentioned that he wouldn’t be surprised if Luai and Galvin exchanged positions during the season.
In an episode of Wide World of Sports’ Six Tackles with Gus, Phil Gould expressed his belief that Galvin is destined for multiple NRL premierships and could potentially become the league’s top player.
This weekend, the Tigers will take on the Eels at CommBank Stadium in their quest for their first win of the season.
