The Gold Coast Suns have fallen victim to a Facebook account hack, with unidentified perpetrators posting an array of amusing and random videos on their page.
The Suns took to their X account to inform followers that they’re in the process of regaining access to their Facebook profile.
However, a day later, the hackers are still at it, sharing clips featuring DIY projects, watermelon slicing, and even dancing penguins.
“The club is aware of the ongoing issues with its Meta account and is actively working to resolve them,” the club stated on X on Tuesday.
“Please be advised that any posts made during this period are unauthorised, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience, distress, or offence this may have caused.”

“The club will provide updates for fans as the situation progresses.”
Fans have been engaging with the unexpected videos, one of which features “addictive dried coconut cutting skills”.
These posts are racking up nearly 10,000 views and hundreds of comments from puzzled and entertained supporters.
“Surely not again,” remarked one user on a video showcasing a watermelon being cut.
“Your best one yet, hackers; well done,” another user commented on the dancing penguins from the film Happy Feet.
“I think this is fantastic,” one person said.
“Are these still happening?,” others chimed in.
The Suns rebranded in the off-season, unveiling a fresh logo, colour scheme, and guernsey.
Just last week, the club rolled out their pink guernsey collection.
However, a complete Facebook hack wasn’t quite on the agenda for the 2025 rebrand.
The Suns are set to host Essendon at People’s First Stadium on Saturday, March 8, as part of the AFL’s Opening Round.
