Bryan Mbeumo played a pivotal role in Brentford’s impressive 4-0 triumph over Leicester City, contributing both a goal and an assist as the Bees celebrated their fourth consecutive victory in the Premier League (PL) away from home.
Early in the match, Leicester’s attack suggested they might finally break their goal drought at home, which had stretched to five league games. However, Mark Flekken thwarted Jamie Vardy’s attempt after a remarkable run from the seasoned forward.
Any optimism from the Leicester side was short-lived as Mikkel Damsgaard’s deft flick sliced through the Foxes’ defence, enabling Yoane Wissa to slot in a bouncing ball that hit the post.
With the wind behind them, Brentford extended their lead in the 27th minute, with Mbeumo receiving the ball on the edge of the area, cutting inside, and curling a shot past Mads Hermansen.
Leicester’s defensive frailties were exposed again just five minutes later when Christian Nørgaard headed in from Mbeumo’s corner with little challenge.
As the first half drew to a close, many home supporters had made an early exit from King Power Stadium, missing further woes as Kevin Schade hit the post and Keane Lewis-Potter had a goal disallowed for handball.

Trailing at halftime for the eighth time this season at home — the highest in the league — Leicester returned to the pitch to a subdued atmosphere.
A dull 20 minutes ensued, leaving the hosts with a mountain to climb and facing the prospect of just their second loss in 14 meetings with Brentford (W9, D3).
As the match edged towards its obvious conclusion, Brentford nearly added another to their tally when substitute Yehor Yarmolyuk had his shot brilliantly saved by Hermansen.
The fourth goal eventually came when Fábio Carvalho finished from close range in the 89th minute, following great play from Mbeumo.
The relentless downpour mirrored the mood at Leicester, who succumbed to their tenth defeat in eleven PL matches, increasing the pressure on manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was unable to lift his side, currently placed 19th, out of the relegation zone.
In contrast, Thomas Frank’s team has enjoyed a remarkable revival in away form, propelling them into the top half of the table, at least for now.
