SSC Napoli were held to a 2-2 draw by SS Lazio in a dramatic finish to their match, marking the third time this season they have been unable to secure a victory in this fixture.
The home side burst out of the blocks and found the back of the net within the first six minutes.
Mattia Zaccagni’s free-kick was brilliantly saved by Alex Meret, but from the subsequent corner, Gustav Isaksen seized the opportunity and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
Nevertheless, Napoli quickly responded with their only shot of the first half, as Giacomo Raspadori capitalised on a pass from Romelu Lukaku, deftly cut inside, and fired the ball past the keeper.
This goal seemed to spur Lazio into action, who dominated the remainder of the half.
Taty Castellanos narrowly missed with a shot from distance before being forced to leave the field due to injury. Nicolo Rovella also had a go, testing Meret from the edge of the box, but the teams remained locked at 1-1 at half-time.
Antonio Conte’s words in the dressing room clearly had an impact, as Napoli returned with renewed vigour in the second half. Lukaku forced an early save from Ivan Provedel with a shot from outside the area.
The visitors eventually broke the deadlock as an unfortunate deflection from Adam Marusic sent the ball into his own net while attempting to intercept a pass.

Just three minutes later, Zaccagni thought he had restored parity for Lazio, but his goal was ruled offside.
Marco Baroni’s side pushed hard for an equaliser, and in the 87th minute, Boulaye Dia sent the home fans into raptures as his strike from the edge of the box curled in off the post.
This late goal dealt a significant blow to Napoli, who, despite extending their unbeaten away league run to 12 matches, left the door ajar for Inter Milan to potentially usurp them at the top of the table.
On the other hand, Lazio will also be wary, as they could slip out of the top four should Juventus secure a victory this weekend.
