The Brisbane Broncos encountered an injury concern during their pre-season trial against the Bulldogs, as Kotoni Staggs exited the field sooner than anticipated.
Staggs left Redcliffe Stadium just 16 minutes into the first half, with Fox League later indicating it was due to a quad strain.
He was ruled out for the remainder of the match in what Fox League’s Jake Duke described as a “precautionary” measure.
Cooper Cronk has expressed confidence that coach Michael Maguire is well-equipped to handle any challenges, given the strong backup options available.

“It’s one area where the Broncos possess considerable depth, with (Deine) Mariner stepping in for Kotoni Staggs; he has shown glimpses of brilliance early in his career,” he noted.
The trial match began in a deadlock, with neither team able to break the stalemate in the first 20 minutes.
However, the Broncos found their rhythm when Adam Reynolds crossed in the 22nd minute.
Jesse Arthars and Jock Madden then added to the scoreline, leaving Brisbane ahead 14-0 at the interval.
After the break, the Broncos maintained their momentum, with Delouise Hoeter increasing the lead with a try.
Nevertheless, the Bulldogs fought back with three consecutive tries from Jacob Preston, Ratu Rinakama, and Blake Wilson, narrowing the margin to 18-14.
Brisbane, displaying resilience, finished the match strongly, with Mariner and Benjamin Te Kura both crossing the try line, sealing a 30-14 victory.
