Bayern Munich’s striker Harry Kane (31) has indicated he is likely to sit out this Sunday’s Bundesliga clash against Frankfurt, following his substitution at half-time during Bayern’s 3-2 aggregate success against Celtic in the Champions League.
During his first 45 minutes against the Scottish team, Kane rattled the crossbar but otherwise had a subdued performance. He later revealed to the media that he is dealing with a calf issue.
“We’ll undergo a scan this evening, and then we’ll assess the situation. I’m unsure if I’ll be fit to face Frankfurt on Sunday,” he commented to reporters at the Allianz Arena.
Kane further noted that a jaw injury sustained after a collision with Bayer Leverkusen last Saturday is still causing him discomfort.
Max Eberl, Bayern Munich’s Sporting Director, confirmed that an ankle concern had also affected the England captain’s agility during the opening half against Celtic.
When probed about Kane’s injury concerns, Vincent Kompany mentioned he couldn’t provide a timeline on how long Kane might be sidelined.
Despite the setbacks, Kane reassured reporters that he is feeling “OK”.
