Following their knockout victory against AC Milan, Feyenoord from the Eredivisie is set to encounter either Arsenal or Inter in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
A 1-1 draw at the San Siro secured Feyenoord’s progression to the next stage of the Champions League, building on their 1-0 win at home the previous week. Trailing 1-0, Feyenoord equalised in the 73rd minute with a header from Julian Carranza.
This knockout success means that Feyenoord will meet either Premier League runners-up, Arsenal, or Serie A titleholders, Inter, in the round of 16. This will mark their first appearance at this stage of the tournament since 1993.

Feyenoord have never squared off against Arsenal in any tournament, whereas they have faced Inter on two previous occasions. In the 2001/2002 UEFA Cup, the sides met in the semi-finals, where Feyenoord triumphed 3-2 over two legs, eventually winning the UEFA Cup on home soil at De Kuip with a 3-2 victory against Borussia Dortmund in the final.
The draw for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 is scheduled to take place this Friday at 12:00 PM CET at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
