A remarkable debut season with the Wests Tigers has led rugby league icon Phil Gould to believe that Lachlan Galvin is destined for premiership success.
The 19-year-old shone for the Tigers in 2024, recording 16 try assists, 36 offloads, and scoring four tries across 21 matches.
Signed through to the end of 2026, Galvin is set to embark on a new challenge this season as he partners with four-time premiership winner Jarome Luai in the halves.
This duo’s collaboration is highly anticipated by fans and analysts alike.
With many keen to see what his second year in the league holds, there’s a growing consensus that Galvin is on the path to becoming a future star of the sport.

According to Gould, the young talent’s on-field success will lead to several premierships.
“I’m thrilled to watch Lachlan Galvin play,” he remarked on Wide World of Sports’ Six Tackles with Gus.
“I’m completely enamoured with his playing style… I can’t wait to see how he performs alongside Jarome Luai at the Tigers.”

“I genuinely believe that any team featuring Lachlan Galvin will be in contention for premierships.”
“I have no hesitation in praising this kid because he is, without a doubt, the most thrilling young playmaker I’ve seen in quite some time.”
Although he excelled in 2024, a three-match ban for a hip-drop tackle kept him from contention for the Dally M Rookie of the Year award.
Nonetheless, Galvin concluded his debut season on a high by being selected to represent Australia in the Prime Minister’s XIII.
He is set to make his return in Round 1 of the NRL season, with the Wests Tigers taking on the Newcastle Knights next Friday.
