The WTA Tour has confirmed that the suspension of Elena Rybakina’s former coach, Stefano Vukov, “remains in effect” following the conclusion of its investigation into a potential violation of the code of conduct.
The governing body did not clarify how much longer Vukov, who was initially given a provisional suspension, will continue to be banned. The Croatian coach has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, stated last month at the Australian Open that Vukov “never mistreated me” during their time together and expressed her disagreement with the provisional suspension.

In a statement, the WTA said, “The investigation into a potential breach of the WTA code of conduct by Stefano Vukov is now complete.”
It added, “As a result of this process, the suspension remains in effect. In order to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the investigation and its results, further details will not be disclosed.”
“We are dedicated to handling all matters fairly and objectively, in line with the WTA code of conduct.”

Rybakina, currently ranked seventh, has faced challenges regarding her coaching situation in recent months.
She announced just before the US Open last year that she had parted ways with Vukov and revealed that her new coach for the season would be the 2001 Wimbledon champion, Goran Ivanisevic.

Prior to the Australian Open, Rybakina mentioned that Vukov would be rejoining her team. During that period, the WTA specified that Vukov was under provisional suspension and was ineligible for WTA credentials, which barred him from accessing player-only areas during tournaments, including practice courts and training facilities.
Following Rybakina’s exit in the fourth round at Melbourne Park, Ivanisevic announced he would no longer be coaching her.
