Anthony Cummings, a horse trainer based in Sydney and the son of racing legend Bart Cummings, has had his training licence revoked while being instructed to vacate the family’s renowned stables.
Reports from sources such as The Sydney Morning Herald indicate that Cummings has been ordered to leave Leilani Lodge located in Randwick, situated in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The revocation from Racing NSW has come in light of Cummings’ business, Rosscarbery Holdings, going into liquidation, allegedly burdened with debts up to $2 million.
The Cummings family has been operating out of Leilani Lodge since Bart, a trainer with an astounding 12 Melbourne Cup victories, took up residence more than four decades ago.
At 69 years of age, Cummings is contesting the decision and has not yet left the lodge.
He has been given a seven-day notice to vacate the premises.
Despite the notice, Cummings remains responsible for his current stable of horses but is prohibited from entering them into races.

Speaking to News Corp on Thursday, Cummings stated, “The training business is operating profitably and everything is going well; we’ve had several winners recently.”
“However, it becomes challenging when your career relies on others.”
“I’m completely puzzled by the entire situation. I haven’t committed any violations or broken any rules, so I just can’t understand it.”
When approached by the Herald, Racing NSW chief Peter V’landys refrained from commenting on the specifics of the matter.
“Mr Cummings has lodged an appeal, so we can’t provide comments as he deserves to undergo proper due process and receive natural justice,” V’landys remarked.
Cummings initiated his training career 25 years ago, boasting 25 Group 1 victories amid a total exceeding 1000 career wins.
