Canadian international Alphonso Davies (24) has extended his contract with Bayern Munich until 2030, effectively putting an end to the year-long speculation surrounding a potential transfer to Real Madrid at the end of the season, when his previous agreement with the Bavarians was set to expire.
To commemorate this new deal, the left-back has released a song titled ‘Munich My Throne’.
After months of intense speculation and a growing belief that he would be making the switch to Madrid, Davies has officially renewed his commitment to Bayern Munich for an additional five years.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have re-signed with this incredible club. I joined Bayern at 18, eager to learn and develop into one of the best in my position. Now, I’m excited about spending another five years here. I’ve achieved a lot already, but there’s still so much more to accomplish,” he shared with the club’s media team.
Sporting director Christoph Freund emphasised the importance of securing a player he describes as “one of the finest in the world in his position”: “His continued presence here highlights Bayern’s prominence in international football and solidifies that Alphonso has truly found his sporting home in Munich.”
At 24 years old, Alphonso Davies made his debut with the Bavarians as a teenager, joining the club at just 18. Since then, he has amassed 220 appearances, netting 12 goals and providing 34 assists.
His trophy haul includes five Bundesliga titles, one Champions League, the European Super Cup, the Club World Cup, two DFB-Pokal (German Cups), and three DFL-Supercups.
