Manager Carlo Ancelotti has praised Real Madrid’s forwards for their recent hard work and improved defensive efforts, ahead of the LaLiga clash with Real Betis this weekend.
Real Madrid currently sits in second place, level on points with league leaders Barcelona, and has recorded clean sheets in their last two outings.
“We’ve discussed this numerous times. Not just with Vinicius Jr but with everyone. And they’ve all accepted that,” the Italian coach told reporters.
“There’s been a noticeable shift in our performance over the last few matches. Since facing Atletico Madrid on February 9th, our defensive form has clearly improved…
“Vinicius is contributing significantly. This has transformed the team, as our forwards are putting in the effort, which has made us much stronger defensively.”

On Saturday, Real Madrid will face a challenging encounter against Betis, who are currently in seventh place and recently secured back-to-back victories.
The home side will welcome back winger Antony, who successfully overturned the red card he received during the match against Getafe last week.
Ancelotti confirmed that he will field a full-strength side against Betis, opting not to rest players ahead of their Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie against Atletico on Tuesday.
“We’re entering this fixture with strong momentum, but so is Betis. There’s a lot on the line for both sides,” Ancelotti remarked.
“The team’s morale is high. We’ve made positive changes and rotations. My focus is on the opponent’s strength, rather than our injury concerns. This is a match where anything could transpire…
“I intend to put out our best XI because these points are crucial for LaLiga, and I won’t let thoughts of Tuesday distract me. It’s going to be a very tough match.”
Midfielder Federico Valverde did not participate in Friday’s training and is expected to miss the fixture against Betis.
“He’s not injured nor on a scheduled break. He’s experiencing discomfort, hasn’t recovered well, and won’t be part of the squad for Betis,” Ancelotti explained.
“However, he should be available for the upcoming match against Atletico.”
