Daniel Jebbison, 21, currently playing for Bournemouth in the Premier League, has opted to commit his international career to Canada, making the switch from England. On Monday, he was named in Canada’s preliminary squad for the 2025 CONCACAF Nations League Finals.
Jebbison, who was born in Canada, is eligible to play for England and Jamaica due to his parentage. He has been part of England’s youth teams for several years and even featured in the Under-20 World Cup with the Three Lions in 2023.
Canada Soccer confirmed to Reuters that Jebbison will not be able to represent Canada until his “Change of Association” has been sanctioned by FIFA.
A source familiar with the situation, speaking on the condition of anonymity, indicated that Canada Soccer anticipates completing Jebbison’s one-time transfer before the final 23-man roster is announced, possibly even this week.

Back in 2021, Jebbison made headlines as the youngest player to net a goal in his first Premier League start, helping Sheffield United secure a 1-0 victory against Everton.
This season, he has not found the net in eight Premier League substitute appearances for Bournemouth, although he has scored twice in two FA Cup matches.
