Hellas Verona and Parma both managed to step away from the Serie A relegation fight after playing out their first goalless draw in their head-to-head encounters since November 1963.
Verona have often struggled to score early, with no first-half goals in their last six outings. However, Daniel Mosquera nearly broke that trend just two minutes in, directing a close-range header onto the post.
The Gialloblu were almost punished for their early miss, as Parma’s Pontus Almqvist fired a first-time strike from 20 yards that whizzed past the post. After some initial let-offs, both teams solidified their defensive efforts, resulting in few opportunities until Mosquera surged into the box just before halftime, only to have his shot blocked by the timely intervention of Alessandro Vogliacco.
After the break, both defences continued to dominate, leading to an escalating sense of urgency when Dennis Man fell in the Verona box, prompting a hopeful shouts for a penalty that referee Juan Luca Sacchi waved away.
With Parma finding the back of the net after the 60-minute mark in six of their last eight matches, they appeared more threatening as the game approached its conclusion. Adrian Bernabe’s powerful free-kick flew over the bar, while Jacob Ondrejka’s curving shot was expertly saved by Lorenzo Montipo.
In the end, neither side could break the deadlock, resulting in a hard-fought stalemate.

With seven points from their last five fixtures, Paolo Zanetti’s Verona have climbed to 14th place, now seven points above the Serie A drop zone.
A single point was arguably more essential for 16th-placed Parma, who sit three points clear of the relegation zone after remaining unbeaten in four of their five matches since Cristian Chivu took charge.
