Igor Tudor started his tenure as Juventus manager with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Genoa at Allianz Stadium, marking an impressive extension of their unbeaten streak against teams in the lower half of the table to 16 matches.
Following a couple of heavy defeats where they conceded over three goals, it was no surprise that Thiago Motta’s stint as Juve manager came to an end during the international break.
Tudor’s approach to the game instantly struck a chord with the home supporters and nearly resulted in an early lead when Kenan Yildiz’s header was dramatically cleared off the line by Stefano Sabelli.
Patrick Vieira’s side showed admirable organisation under pressure, but a moment of magic from Yildiz gave the Old Lady the edge in the 25th minute.
Collecting the ball on the right side, the young Turkish talent danced around Koni De Winter before firing a precise effort into the corner from a narrow angle, delighting the home fans.
However, Tudor faced an immediate setback as he lost centre-back Federico Gatti to injury shortly after the goal.
Both teams struggled to create quality chances in the final third, with Dusan Vlahovic’s long-range effort requiring a straightforward save from Nicola Leali as the first half drew to a close.
The trend continued into the second half, with Genoa’s Andrea Pinamonti posing a threat with a volley that went wide following a cross from Sabelli.
The match remained finely balanced as it approached its end, with Juventus’s numerous draws this season heightening the tension among the home crowd.
A powerful header from Pierre Kalulu looked set to seal the win, only to be thwarted by another excellent save from Leali, who was called into action again to deny a fierce long-range strike from Manuel Locatelli.

Ultimately, Juve could not add a second goal, but their attacking intent prevented Genoa from posing a real threat, ensuring a vital win.
The result leaves them just one point shy of the top four, thanks to a third consecutive clean sheet against their visitors, while Genoa’s winless run away from home extended to seven matches since the start of 2025.
