In a disappointing outing for AC Milan, Torino clinched a 2-1 victory in Serie A, marking their fourth consecutive home win against I Rossoneri in head-to-head encounters, a feat not achieved since 1977.
Already shaken after their recent exit from the UEFA Champions League, Milan had a nightmarish start when Mike Maignan attempted to clear the ball, only for it to hit Malick Thiaw and roll into the net within the first five minutes.
On a positive note, Milinković-Savić had a stroke of luck when his misdirected kick aimed at João Félix returned harmlessly toward Il Toro’s goalkeeper. The Serbian then showcased his skills by thwarting Santiago Giménez after the visitors sliced through Torino’s defence.
Giménez later headed a threatening cross from Christian Pulisic off target as Milan intensified their hunt for an equaliser. They appeared to have a significant chance when Rafael Leão rose above Marcus Pedersen to connect with a cross from Álex Jiménez, only to see the right-back’s mishap go unpunished.
However, the visitors’ woes continued when Milinković-Savić expertly saved Pulisic’s penalty with a strong hand. Fortunately for Milan, they managed to halt any further damage before halftime, as Maignan denied a shot from Nikola Vlašić and Strahinja Pavlović blocked another effort.
Sérgio Conceição opted for changes in the 55th minute, introducing Youssouf Fofana followed by Tammy Abraham in a bid to turn the game around.

The substitutes began to make an impact, with Fofana testing Milinković-Savić, who then skillfully deflected João Félix’s curling shot before frustrating Tijjani Reijnders with an impressive stop.
Giménez had a near miss as his shot flew agonisingly past the post, and a powerful effort from João Félix crashed against the woodwork.
Gvidas Gineitis nearly stretched the lead, but it was ultimately cut short with just under 15 minutes remaining, as Sebastian Walukiewicz miscalculated his clearance, presenting Reijnders with a golden opportunity to score emphatically.
However, Gineitis responded just three minutes later, capitalising on a quick free-kick taken intelligently by Antonio Sanabria to slot the ball past Maignan with precision.
Despite Sanabria’s missed chance for a goal of his own, Torino held firm to secure only their second victory in the past 10 matches, also handing Milan their first defeat in five Serie A outings, leaving them trailing Lazio by six points, who have played an extra match.
