LAS VEGAS: The Warriors are gearing up for a quintessential Ricky Stuart ambush as their season gets underway in Vegas this Sunday (AEDT).
The Kiwis are seen as strong favourites by both bookmakers and fans ahead of the highly anticipated season opener in Sin City, while Canberra receives scant support.
However, Stuart is no stranger to this scenario, and Warriors coach Andrew Webster has alerted his squad to the potential threats posed by an ambush.
“Having played six seasons in Canberra, I know how they thrive in these situations,” said standout fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad in an interview with Wide World of Sports.

“They relish being dismissed and wearing the underdog label – it unites them and often leads to them stepping up their game. We must prevent that from occurring.”
Webster, who launched his NRL coaching journey under Stuart at Parramatta, is acutely aware of the tough battle that awaits his side at Allegiant Stadium.

“Ricky is not only a good bloke but also an exceptional coach, and he knows how to rally his boys for matches like these … it’s undoubtedly a dangerous game for us,” Webster stated.
“We need to enter with the right mindset and can’t afford to let them take control early on.”
