Shortly after, Jacob Liddle made a strong run from dummy half to score, pushing the Dragons ahead 14-8, a lead they managed to defend until the final whistle.
The Dragons’ exceptional defence was highlighted by their 46 tackles made within the 20 metre zone, while the Storm recorded their lowest points tally against St George Illawarra since 2011.
With this result, Melbourne has now suffered defeat in four out of their last five outings at this venue. Additionally, Flanagan has guided his teams to victory in six of their previous eight meetings against the Storm.
