Serginho Stars as Viborg Dominates AaB in Aalborg

Serginho was certainly the standout performer as Viborg maintained their strong form by securing a 4-0 victory on the road against AaB in Aalborg.

The forward demonstrated his keen sense for scoring early in the match, hitting the post within the first five minutes following a significant error from AaB’s goalkeeper, Vincent Müller, during the build-up.

After dominating possession in the opening quarter of the game, Viborg’s efforts paid off just over 20 minutes in. A cross from Serginho found Thomas Jorgensen completely unmarked, allowing him to give the visitors the lead with a straightforward finish from close range.

Continuing to pose a threat throughout the first half, Serginho doubled Viborg’s advantage five minutes before the interval. The nimble winger weaved past a few AaB defenders before slotting the ball into the net.

Post-break, the home side found little respite against a vibrant Viborg attack.

Yonis Njoh took up the mantle from Serginho, extending the lead to three goals in the 64th minute when he unleashed a powerful shot that hit the roof of the net. After that, the momentum shifted as Viborg seemed to enter a more relaxed phase, while AaB focused on damage control rather than mounting a comeback.

In the dying moments of the match, Viborg’s Charly Nouck sealed the deal with a well-placed goal, slicing through a lackadaisical AaB defence to score with mere seconds remaining.

The victory allows Viborg to maintain their ambitions of finishing in seventh place, which would secure a playoff spot for European competition. Meanwhile, AaB now finds itself in ninth position, just four points clear of Sonderjyske, who are currently in the relegation zone.
