In terms of individual performances, Josh Addo-Carr’s debut for Parramatta went remarkably well.
Taking on his former team, Addo-Carr found the corner of the try-line early in the second half. He rose to his feet, unleashed a triumphant roar, and pounded his chest before being engulfed by his delighted teammates.
The try was a classic display of Foxx’s trademark style, signalling a return to form for the talented winger, who faced a tumultuous exit from the Bulldogs last year amid the cocaine scandal that overshadowed the club’s long-awaited finals campaign.

“I missed playing so much … it honestly feels like I’ve been away from the field for years,” Addo-Carr shared with Brad Fittler on Nine post-match.
“I’m loving being part of the club, the camaraderie with the boys, and the coaching staff.”
“That try was particularly meaningful for me. I got a bit emotional afterwards, to be honest. It felt like a release of a lot of built-up stress.”
“I’m just thrilled to be back on the field, doing what I love, and doing so with a fantastic group of blokes and a brilliant club.”

Despite Addo-Carr’s strong efforts, the Eels fell to their local rivals 16-8, marking a disappointing 0-3 start under new coach Jason Ryles.
Even with the rough beginning, Addo-Carr noted that Ryles has navigated his challenging initiation into the NRL “quite well.”
“He’s ensured that we all stay connected as a team – no one’s complaining,” he mentioned.
“I understand that we haven’t secured wins the past few weeks, but it’s a journey. We need to have faith in the process that Ryles has introduced to the club. We just have to keep pushing forward.”
The Eels currently languish at the bottom of the ladder and will take on a formidable Sea Eagles side at Brookvale Oval next Sunday afternoon.
