At Flashscore, we are dedicated to enhancing the experience we offer to our audience. In line with that commitment, we are excited to introduce predicted lineups as part of our online services.
While we will continue to provide the latest official team news whenever it becomes available, football enthusiasts can now get a sneak peek at our user-friendly predicted lineups beforehand.
These predicted lineups are formulated using our comprehensive data on both teams, encompassing player details, preferred formations, positional preferences, as well as updates regarding injuries, illnesses, and accumulated yellow and/or red cards.
Moreover, our team will manually refine these predicted lineups as new information comes to light.
Initially, this feature will be accessible for the Premier League and Champions League, with plans to extend it to other prominent domestic leagues and European competitions before the conclusion of the 2024/2025 season.
From the commencement of the 2025/2026 season, predicted lineups will be available for over 50 competitions.

How it works
Our predicted lineups are determined by various criteria.
This includes analysing each team’s selections in their most recent matches to identify the most commonly used formations.
Players who are currently injured or have been transferred out will be excluded from the potential lineup.
Individual positions will be filled based on the most recent appearances, favouring the player with the highest number of starts in that position.
If multiple players share the same number of starts, the player with the highest calculated performance score will be chosen. Key parameters for this score include minutes on the pitch and match ratings.
Additionally, the specific tournament plays a role; players with more appearances in that competition will be given preference.
Finally, while recent performances are assessed, they will not all weigh equally. The latest match results will be prioritised, with older matches gradually losing significance.
