Wolves manager Vitor Pereira addressed the media in his recent press conference as he gears up for the clash against Fulham this Tuesday evening.
Pereira reflected on Saturday’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bournemouth, emphasising the importance of facing Fulham as his team aims to create some distance from the relegation zone, with Ipswich Town closely following their progress.
“The win was positive, but the next match is what truly matters now. Our focus is firmly on Fulham, and this game is crucial for us.
“I’m expecting our strongest performance on Tuesday. There’s plenty we can improve on, such as capitalising on our scoring chances and maintaining solid defensive play, as Fulham is a capable team with an experienced coach. We need to concentrate on our game and fight for all three points.”
The discussion then turned to Brazil international Andre, who was instrumental in Wolves’ success at the Vitality Stadium.
“He plays a vital role for us as he maintains the equilibrium of the team. When we’re in possession, he must stay alert and organised to prepare for the possibility of losing the ball. He’s the key player for linking various areas of the pitch, orchestrating play, and he possesses the intelligence necessary for that role.”
Striker Jorgen Strand Larsen has recently returned to full fitness, giving Pereira more options as the team presses ahead.
“It’s a pleasant dilemma to have. I would be delighted to have many such dilemmas. He’s improving; he managed to play 45 minutes and is regaining his fitness. He’s now ready to contribute to the team.”
