Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot has had his two-match touchline suspension officially confirmed following his red card during the Merseyside derby against Everton earlier this month.
Slot received his marching orders for remarks made to the referee after the final whistle in a tense 2-2 stalemate.
Although the Premier League had earlier announced his suspension before completing any inquiries, this communication was swiftly removed from their website.
As a result, Slot will be absent from the touchline for Liverpool’s forthcoming Premier League clashes against Newcastle on Wednesday, February 26, and Southampton on Saturday, March 8.
Liverpool will also be without assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff, who is facing the same two-match ban. Dutchman Johnny Heitinga will step in to manage the team for the upcoming fixture against Newcastle.
In the aftermath of the match, both Merseyside clubs have been fined; Liverpool received a £65,000 penalty, while Everton has been fined £50,000.
