In yet another disheartening outing, Brøndby was held to a 1-1 draw against struggling Lyngby, needing a last-gasp equaliser from Jordi Vanlerberghe to salvage a point at home for the second week running in the Danish Superliga.
Since the appointment of Frederik Birk during the winter break, following Jesper Sørensen’s sacking, Brøndby has only managed to collect five points from a possible nine.
Without Vanlerberghe’s late intervention, Brøndby would have slipped to seventh in the standings; however, the single point was sufficient to maintain their position in fourth as the regular season approaches its finale.
Brøndby almost conceded early, with Jesper Cornelius finding himself one-on-one with keeper Patrick Pentz just four minutes in, but the forward squandered the opportunity, misfiring past the post.

Brøndby dominated possession in the early exchanges, with young talent Noah Nartey pulling the strings in midfield. However, they struggled to convert this control into tangible scoring opportunities against a resolute Lyngby side that appeared more than happy to defend their hard-earned point.
The turning point came in the 56th minute when Lyngby silenced the passionate Brøndby fans. Frederik Gytkjaer, who came on for Michael Opoku at half-time, was sent through on goal and calmly slotted the ball beyond Pentz to put Lyngby ahead.
Although Brøndby increased the pressure in the latter stages of the match, they rarely looked like threatening until injury time, when a fortunate bounce allowed Vanlerberghe to strike, smashing the ball into the roof of the net to level the score.
With only two matches remaining in the regular season, Brøndby must secure favourable results against Randers and Silkeborg to clinch a spot in the top six, ensuring a place in the Championship Playoffs.
