Burnley have secured the services of seasoned defender Kyle Walker from Manchester City.
The 35-year-old right-back has signed a two-year contract at Turf Moor, where he will link up once again with former Tottenham teammate Scott Parker, the Clarets’ manager.
“I’m thrilled to be here,” Walker expressed following the announcement of his signing on Saturday.
“When I spoke with Scott and learned about his vision for next season, it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. He has done a fantastic job steering the club back to the Premier League with an outstanding 100-point season, and now we’re looking forward to making our mark together in the best league in the world.”
“Burnley had an exceptional campaign last year, anchored by a remarkable defensive record, and I’m eager to come in and contribute my experience and skills to what appears to be a promising squad.”
Walker spent the latter part of last season on loan at AC Milan, making 16 appearances across all competitions.
However, the Serie A club opted not to exercise their option for a permanent transfer, allowing him to leave City after an illustrious eight-year tenure.
During his time there, Walker won 17 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League, and played a pivotal role in their treble triumph in the 2022/23 season.
He has made 410 appearances in the Premier League and earned 96 caps for the England national team.
