Kagiso Rabada, the star fast bowler from South Africa, has been given the green light to resume his cricketing career following the completion of a one-month suspension for a positive test on a recreational substance.
Rabada departed the Indian Premier League, citing “personal reasons,” but disclosed over the weekend that he had tested positive and was serving a suspension.
On Monday evening, the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (Saids) confirmed that Rabada had accepted accountability for the incident and received a one-month ban, which has now lapsed.
He is eligible to rejoin the IPL as soon as Wednesday and will also be available for the World Test Championship final against Australia scheduled for next month.
“The player acknowledged his responsibility for the doping violation and complied with his provisional suspension,” stated Saids.

In a subsequent statement, Rabada expressed his “deep regret to everyone I have disappointed.”
“I will forever value the honour of playing cricket,” he remarked.
“This honour goes far beyond my own desires; it’s a privilege that encompasses much more.”
Throughout his career, Rabada has taken 327 wickets at an impressive average of 22 from just 70 Test matches, with an additional 168 scalps in 108 One Day Internationals and 71 from 65 T20 internationals.
