The head coach of Western United, John Aloisi, is full of praise for midfielder Rhys Bozinovski, asserting that he possesses the “all the qualities to become a top-tier player” following his impressive display in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
Bozinovski has now scored four goals in three matches as the soaring Western United triumphed over struggling Perth Glory with a 3-1 victory at Ironbark Fields on Saturday night.
The 21-year-old, who came through the club’s academy, is relishing a breakout season at Tarneit, firmly establishing himself in the team’s midfield. He has participated in a career-high 22 matches and netted a personal best of five goals, playing a crucial role in propelling the Green and Black to second place in the league, just five points adrift of Auckland FC.
BIG INTERVIEW: I bid farewell, and then an A-Leagues legend stepped in. It paved the way for my international debut
“I don’t want to limit his potential,” Aloisi stated to the media when discussing Bozinovski.
“He’s certainly a player we have had faith in for several years. Our only concern was his fitness and ensuring he could play consistently week after week. This season, he has managed to do just that.”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled because we recognise that Rhys is still evolving in his understanding of the game and has so much more to offer.”
“He performed exceptionally once again, not just with his goal but in winning the ball in key areas, getting on the ball, and advancing it forward. He and Angus (Thurgate) share a strong rapport, and they really energise our team.”
“The extent of his potential is up to him, but he undoubtedly has the qualities to become a top, top player.”
