Brisbane Roar midfielder Momo Hayashi has secured her future with the club by signing a one-year extension, ensuring she will remain in Queensland through to the conclusion of the 2025-26 Ninja A-League season.
Hayashi made the move to the Roar from NPLW QLD club Gold Coast United in the off-season and has made a stunning start to her Ninja A-League career.
She scored twice during the Unite Round against the Western Sydney Wanderers and maintained her impressive momentum with goals in subsequent victories over both the Newcastle Jets and Western United, helping Brisbane get off to a terrific beginning this season.

Unfortunately, Hayashi’s impressive run was halted in January when she sustained an ankle injury during a match against Adelaide United in Round 12, leaving her unable to play since.
Nevertheless, the club recognised her contributions during the first half of the season and quickly moved to secure her contract extension.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to extend my contract,” Hayashi expressed after the announcement of her new deal.
“My time here has been incredibly enjoyable, and I have every confidence in my ability to play my game in this league.”
“I’m currently in recovery from an injury, but I’m putting in the hard work to get back on the pitch! I can’t wait to play in front of our fantastic fans!”
While there isn’t a specific timeline for her return, the club has undoubtedly felt her absence in midfield, managing only one win from their last four outings.

Now sitting fifth on the ladder, Alex Smith’s side will face an away match against bottom-placed Sydney FC in Round 17 of the Ninja A-League.
Adding to their challenges, Smith will also be without the key Freier twins for the upcoming match against Sydney.
Winger Sharn is ruled out for the rest of the season due to an ankle injury, while attacking midfielder Laini is currently representing the Matildas after making her debut in the recent 2-1 SheBelieves Cup loss to the USA.
