Max Jorgensen’s promising yet injury-stricken career has encountered yet another obstacle, as the young NSW Waratahs star appeared to sustain a serious leg injury during a match in Wellington on Friday.
Early in the first half, while carrying the ball, Jorgensen’s left leg became awkwardly ensnared during a tackle from Hurricanes flanker Brayden Iose.
The fullback let out a shriek of pain and slammed his fist into the ground at Sky Stadium before being substituted.

Commentator Tony Johnson remarked, “Braydon Iose came sliding in to make the tackle, and you could instantly see the distress on the face of this incredibly gifted young player.”
Ben Castle added, “He’s clearly in discomfort. Just look at that ankle; he knows something is wrong right away.”
Despite the Waratahs initially scoring through Lawson Creighton, Jorgensen’s unfortunate injury marked the beginning of a dismal turn for the team.
The Hurricanes unleashed a dominant performance, securing a 57-12 victory, with left winger Kini Naholo achieving a hat-trick.
Currently, the Waratahs have yet to provide updates on the specifics or severity of Jorgensen’s injury.
Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt will be anxiously watching, as Jorgensen is a vital component of his strategy for the British and Irish Lions, with the first Test scheduled for July 19 in Brisbane.
