Barcelona remains unbeaten since late December, extending their remarkable run to 19 matches across all competitions with a straightforward 3-0 victory over Osasuna on Thursday. This win places them three points clear at the top of La Liga.
Manager Hansi Flick commended his team’s concentration, describing the performance as flawless despite several changes to the starting lineup due to injuries to players returning from international duty. The match had been postponed on March 8 following the passing of Barca’s club doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia.
The goals came early, with Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo finding the net before Robert Lewandowski sealed the victory in the second half.
“We are in a fantastic moment, and I am proud of the team for their commitment in every match,” Flick told reporters.
“With ten games remaining, we are three points clear at the top, which is positive, and we need to maintain the same attitude moving forward.”
“It wasn’t an easy situation, and playing today was not ideal. Unfortunately, Olmo picked up an injury, which slightly taints the win.”
Olmo was substituted early in the first half due to a leg muscle injury, and Flick indicated he is likely to be sidelined for several weeks. Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday, followed by a Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund.
Currently, Barca stands as the only team in Europe’s top five leagues without a defeat in 2025, boasting 63 points from 28 matches. Reigning champions Real Madrid sit in second with 60 points, while Atletico trails in third with 56, with just ten games left to play.
