AGF showcased their status as the underdogs in the Danish Championship Playoffs with an impressive 2-0 victory at home over FC Nordsjaelland.
After managing only two points from their last three matches in the regular season, AGF started the championship playoffs on a high note, securing a 2-0 win at their temporary venue in Vejlby against FC Nordsjaelland.
This victory solidified AGF’s hold on third place, now with 39 points, leaving them just six and two points behind FC Midtjylland and FC Copenhagen, respectively, who have played one fewer match.
In a surprising move, FC Nordsjaelland’s coach Jens Fonsskov Olsen opted to bench regular goalkeeper Andreas Hansen, giving 20-year-old William Lykke a rare opportunity to shine.

However, this decision backfired as Lykke was culpable for both goals scored by AGF. Just three minutes into the match, his attempt to clear an inswinging corner resulted in a major blunder, flicking the ball into the path of Fredrik Tingager, who made no mistake from close range to give the home side a dream start.
The early goal placed AGF on the back foot, with the visitors from Farum enjoying most of the possession. Nevertheless, AGF took a more direct approach and managed to create more goal-scoring opportunities.
Ten minutes before halftime, Lykke suffered a second error, failing to safely catch a weak shot from Mads Emil Madsen, which allowed Tobias Bech to slot the ball home easily from just a few yards out.
As the match progressed, the visitors struggled to carve out clear chances, and their woes were exacerbated when Araphat Mohammed received a red card for a reckless challenge on Felix Beijmo just before the final whistle.
