Fulham’s manager Marco Silva has not dismissed the possibility of a transfer to Saudi Arabia, amid speculations linking him to Al Hilal.
With just a year remaining on his contract with the Cottagers, reports suggest that the Saudi Pro League club has set its sights on the 47-year-old.
Silva has been leading Fulham for four years, and under his management, the west London team currently sits in 11th position in the Premier League.
“Being a manager means you need to be receptive to everything the market has to offer, but my ambitions have been clear over the past few years,” Silva stated to journalists on Friday.
“I’m not shutting the door on opportunities like that; I can’t say I won’t work outside of Europe, it’s a possibility for the future.”
Additionally, Silva is rumoured to be a candidate to step in for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham should the Australian be dismissed.
If Silva were to make the switch to Al Hilal, he would reunite with former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The two maintain a close relationship, and ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Everton, Silva remarked: “It’s evident that our focus is on what we can control at the football club. When we perform well, such links are to be expected.”
“I don’t dwell on it; the priority is Fulham, and we intend to battle until the season’s conclusion while concentrating on our objectives and planning for the club’s future, as we are currently doing.”
“My relationship with Mitrovic is strong, and we generally communicate often, though we don’t discuss this particular situation.”
