Feyenoord secured their second consecutive victory in the Eredivisie as Robin van Persie’s team triumphed over Go Ahead Eagles with a 3-2 scoreline at De Kuip.
The match against Go Ahead Eagles marked Feyenoord’s second successive challenge from the Eredivisie’s top seven, having previously faced FC Twente before the international break, where they delivered a stunning 6-2 defeat, earning Van Persie his first league win as manager of the Rotterdam club.
The visiting side started the match strongly, creating two excellent opportunities within the first 15 minutes, but both Enric Llansana and Mathis Suray were unable to find the net, thwarted by goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther.
However, the turning point came in the 30th minute when Indonesian international Dean James made a critical error by bringing down Anis Hadj Moussa in the penalty area, handing Feyenoord a penalty. Jakub Moder, formerly of Brighton, stepped up and calmly slotted the ball into the top left corner to give Feyenoord the lead.
Despite that advantage, the home team went in at half-time on level terms, as Milan Smit cleverly assisted Victor Edvardsen, who equalised in the second minute of stoppage time.
Argentine forward Julian Carranza had a chance to restore Feyenoord’s lead shortly after the break, but his effort struck the woodwork.
Algerian international Hadj Moussa, however, made the most of his chance ten minutes later, powering a shot past Go Ahead Eagles goalkeeper Jari de Busser into the right corner to make it 2-1.

The Eagles struck back quickly, with Finnish forward Oliver Antman calmly converting a well-timed attack into an equaliser, placing the ball in the left corner of the net.
With PSV stumbling against Ajax and FC Twente losing to Heracles Almelo, Feyenoord pushed for a decisive goal as the match entered its final 15 minutes.
Igor Paixao, the talented Brazilian who played a pivotal role in Feyenoord’s six-goal display against FC Twente, once again demonstrated his prowess with a powerful shot from inside the box, regaining the lead for Feyenoord with 15 minutes remaining.
In the latter stages, Go Ahead Eagles ramped up the pressure, but Feyenoord held firm to secure the victory, marking Robin van Persie’s first win as manager at the revered De Kuip stadium.
This result narrowed the gap to PSV to eight points, with Feyenoord holding a game in hand, while distancing themselves from fifth-placed FC Twente after their recent setback. Feyenoord will face FC Groningen on Wednesday night, aiming to leapfrog FC Utrecht into third place.
