Supporters donning Cristiano Ronaldo jerseys in the home section will face removal from Parken Stadium during the Nations League encounter between Denmark and Portugal.
“Fans in the Danish stands who openly display support for Portugal risk being ejected. However, we will not prevent children from entering if they are sporting Cristiano Ronaldo shirts,” stated Erik Brøgger Rasmussen, CEO of the Danish FA, in an interview with TV 2 Sport.
According to the guidelines set by the Danish FA, wearing the away team’s kit is generally restricted to the respective away section, but these regulations will be applied more leniently for the Nations League quarter-final.
“Our clear expectation is for Parken Stadium to be adorned in red and white. We recognise and appreciate that there may be fans, particularly children, who idolise Cristiano Ronaldo and wish to wear his shirt,” added Erik Brøgger Rasmussen.
This highly anticipated match has been sold out for several months.
