Concerns are once again being raised regarding Victor Radley’s history of head injuries and the tackling style of the Roosters lock, following another alarming blow he sustained on Friday night.
During the first half of the Roosters’ game against the Warriors in Auckland, Radley took a heavy hit to the head while attempting a low tackle.
The 27-year-old successfully passed a head injury assessment after being assessed by an independent doctor. However, it has become increasingly troubling to see Radley leave the field for checks on possible concussion symptoms.
In the Roosters’ first match of the season against the Broncos, Radley was forced to exit the game early after a collision with teammate James Tedesco in an uncommon defensive scenario.
On Friday night in Auckland, Roosters hooker Connor Watson also had to depart for a head injury assessment late in the first half after he sustained a knock while tackling a Warriors player, ruling him out for the remainder of the match.

Tigers legend Steve Roach voiced his concerns as Radley departed for his assessment.
“We’re witnessing a lot of head injuries these days, and while we often attribute them to high tackles, it’s clear that instances like this highlight the danger of positioning your head incorrectly, resulting in a knockout for a few seconds,” Roach commented during the Fox League coverage.
