Injury woes are threatening to hamper Crows star Izak Rankine’s ambitions of lighting up the Adelaide Oval during Thursday night’s Gather Round opener.
A recent corked calf injury, along with a tight turnaround following last week’s controversial one-point defeat to the Suns, is casting doubt on his availability for Adelaide’s clash this Thursday.
“It’s a quick turnaround, so we’ll need to be cautious with management at the moment, but I’m hopeful I’ll be right for Thursday,” the talented forward remarked.
The 24-year-old is currently in the spotlight within the footy community after last Saturday’s contentious loss to Gold Coast, where he was denied a mark that the AFL later acknowledged should have been awarded.

“Yeah, I genuinely thought I’d taken the mark,” he recalled.
Despite the injury uncertainty, Rankine remains optimistic about making an appearance this week – particularly as he prepares to showcase his musical talents with a guitar on Channel Nine tonight.
“The goal is to come here, perform, sing a few tracks, and kick a few goals,” he stated.
